Bed Program

St. Vincent de Paul Appleton (SVdP) launched the Bed Program in May 2016, where we provide our neighbors in need a factory direct bed, at no cost to the household. Since the launch of this program, we have been able to see how much of a need there truly is for such a service in our community.

Within the first six months of inception, SVdP has recognized over 130 households where families and children are without beds and sleeping on the floor. SVdP is unique in the fact that we have volunteers (known as Conference Vincentians) who conduct home visits in order to provide a compassionate listening ear, friendship, and person-to-person service to individuals in need. Home visits allow us to best asses the needs of each unique family and creates a platform for discussion on how we may best address these needs and promote systemic change.

It is clear that the Bed Program is an immediate success in the fact that it is filling a gap in our community. Due to the generosity of United Way Fox Cities, Inc, SCA Tissue North America, and individual donors, we will be able to provide approximately 300 beds to people without. Having your own bed provides a sense of comfort and dignity. We believe that everyone deserves a chance to feel this way, and thanks to our donors, more neighbors in need will.

Program Update:

We are currently in need of additional funds to support our Bed Program. Please consider making a donation today to help our neighbors in need.
